Leadville Trail 100 (LT100) My Dream:

One week before the Leadville Trial 100 (LT100) is the                    LT100 Mountain Bike Race, My dream (nightmare ;-) is to compete in this race again. I'm not able to run the LT100 yet, however I could be the first to compete/complete in the LT100 Mountain Bike Race with a hand crank mountain bike. Handcycles by One-Off Titanium Inc.

I need to raise the funds for the Bikes $5000 plus price tag. The main reasons I want to compete in this event, is raise awareness for spinal cord injury research, those with disabilities and for those who feel they have limitations of any kind.

I feel the only limitations we have are the ones we put on ourselves--- I have no limitations and I want others to know they to can wake up and LIVE their dreams!

If you would like to help me send this message to the world, you can help in the form of a donation.

Before my accident, in Aug. of 1998, I ran/raced distances from 5k       (3.1 miles) to 100 Miles, I went everywhere and ran everything, for me the ultimate challenge was in Leadville. Leadville is a small mining town in Colorado.

Leadville is the highest main street in the USA, it sits at a breath taking 10,200 feet above sea level. 4:AM on race morning over 500 runners gather at the Start/Finish line, a gun shot signals the start of the toughest one day ultra endurance event in the world. 50 miles out, running over rugged mountain trails, over 11,000 foot Sugarloaf Pass, then a barely breathable 12,600 foot Hope Pass, before reaching the turn around in a ghost town the named of Windfield, now re-trace the same path back to Leadville.

The runners have 30 hours or less to do this in and if that wasn't difficult enough there are cut off times that have to be met at the six aid stations along the course.
